Ebony & Chanel
- adopted 02/05
February, 2005...
Here are some pictures of Chanel that I took yesterday, and one of
Ebony & Chanel on the ride to their new homes. My mother and my
niece have Ebony. My son is loving Chanel.
Chanel has had 2 accidents in the house, but I bought a crate, so
hopefully that will help with her house training. Her and Cisco(my
other dog)are getting along ok now. He took a day or two to warm up
to her. I guess now that he realizes that she is part of the family
he is fine. When I first brought her home he was growling at her and
just sniffing her a lot, but now they play really good. They chase
each other through the yard. As they get older I will send more pictures.
Chanel and Ebony will get to see a lot of each other. They will be
together this weekend, because I have to go out of town, so she will
be with my mother.
March, 2005...
The weekend went well, the two girls were happy to see each other
again. Chanel and Cisco (my other dog) is really getting along well
now, I attached more pictures of the two playing. My whole reason
of getting another puppy was for Cisco, because a lot of times we
are not home, with work and games, or sometimes are too tired to go
out and play with him. Cisco is still a big baby even though he is
1 ½ years old and he loves to play and be loved on. I am taking
Chanel to the vet this weekend to get her last set of shots and a
check up. Chanel has been a joy to have, and she is getting better
at the potty training. We are trying to teach her not to jump up on
people, because her nails are so sharp. She is such a sweet girl,
with a lot of love!! I think she is probably mixed with German Shepherd,
but I am going to hopefully find out when I take her to the vet.

Fred (aka Junior)
- adopted 02/03
February, 2005...
Hello,
My name is Kathy Elliott and my husband and I adopted a kitten from
your Humane Society almost two years ago. When we got him his name
was Junior, but we call him Fred now.
We ran into a lady that works with you guys at PetsMart a couple weeks
ago and she said you would probably be interested in a current picture
of our feline family, so I thought I would send you one of Fred and
our other two cats one came from Bowling Green Humane Society and
the other was a stray that I picked up.
The tabby cat is Junior/Fred and the little gray is Gizmo and the
big gray is Odie, he was the stray.
Anyway, our cats bring us lots of pleasure and I'm glad that we were
able to adopt him from you guys.
** Thanks, Kathy (Tennessee)

Bubbles - adopted 02/03
February, 2005:...
Hey there,
Have been trying to get this to you for a while and just found the time.
We are the proud and happy family of Bubbles, who used to be called
Zoe. We have brought her back to visit a couple of times but wanted
to send some pics of her.
She has been a wonderful addition to our family and we thank God each
day that we were in the right place at the right time to bring her home.
She is funny and loving always ready to please and give and get attention.
We truly love her and hope she is with us for a long time to come. Thank
You all for saving her and making it possible for us to adopt her.
Oh yea, did I tell you? She is living in Wisconsin and just loves playing
in the snow. We get down your way a few times a year visiting friends
near by and we will be sure to bring her for a visit from time to time.
Thanks again,

Becky Sue - adopted
03/02
February, 2005...
Our best friend, Becky, came to us three years ago while Kathy was volunteering
with the CCHS at a PETsMART adoption fair. Although all the other puppies
and grown dogs brought down to find homes that day were sweet and wonderful,
Becky just touched Kathy's heart in a special way. Becky did not find
another home that day, so about a week later Dick went to her foster
home and adopted her.
Becky has become such a part of our lives it's as if she has always
been with us. She's buddies with the rest of our family, too. Including
cats and 12 other dogs (8 of which were adopted from the CCHS, too).
Thank you so much to Becky's foster Mom for taking such good care of
her Mother and all the rest of her sisters and her brother before they
all found their forever homes. Thank you, too, to Becky's brother, Brady,
in Washington State for sending her a birthday card every year...Brady,
Becky's saved all your cards!
Remember, when you want to add love to your family, adopt a pet from
a shelter - their unconditional love is endless.

about Ethel
February, 2005:...
Dear Everyone at CCHS---
Enclosed please find my check to be used wherever needed. I am enclosing
a picture of my Sweet Ethel.
We just finished six-week obedience training and didn't exactly graduate
magna cum laude, but we graduated, oh Lawdy!!! She heels very well,
will sit and stay and that's about it. She still has some pup in her
and would rather play with all the other dogs than go to school. So,
I am going to work out with her when the weather warms and then we will
take the same course again in the Fall and I figure by that time she
will know the ropes pretty well.
Thanks again for giving me a loving companion who follows me every step
of the way whether I am inside or out. She is truly a dear---

Baby & Pepper - Baby adopted
01/05 & Pepper adopted 02/05
February, 2005...
Hello,
This is Baby and Pepper (brothers Marcel & Sharadon) that we adopted
from CCHS. Baby is left in the photo and Pepper is on the right.
We wanted to let you know that both are doing well and are happy to
be reunited with each other. They have lots of toys, treats and good
food and are always being cuddled and kissed. Sometimes they argue though
over who should get the most attention; being typical spoiled babies.
Baby likes to lay on the back of the sofa and stare out the window with
his feline brother, Hateful, while Pepper prefers to lay in someone's
lap, all the time. Both are sweethearts and love sleeping in the bed
with us at night. They take most of the room but we don't mind.
They are both so gentle and loving and we thank God for bringing these
darlings into our lives. And thank you too for taking care of them until
they could find their forever home - with us.
Best Regards,
**Michael & Shirley (and Baby
& Pepper) |

Frodo - adopted 08/04
December, 2004:...Hi! My name is Frodo. You will
probably remember me as Tipper that was my name when I lived at Carroll
County Humane Society. I am the 2 ½ month old terrier mix that
was adopted in August. I wanted to give you an update about my new life
with my new family. I am having a blast!!!!!
I live with Hobo, who looks like me, but he is HUGE (about 4 times bigger
than me). He is my best buddy, he plays “tug the rope” with
me and let’s me crawl all over him. I, also, live with two other
4-legged friends, but they don’t look like me, they are furrier
and make this purring noise, they are named Gizmo and Gidget, and they
play with me, also.
Hobo and I have a big fenced in backyard to play in and a covered porch
so we don’t get wet when that stuff falls from the sky. It is
an awesome playground!!!! Gidget tries to come outside and play with
us, but she gets in trouble when she tries to go outside, and one of
my 2-legged friends takes her back inside all the time. I wish she could
play with us outside.
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention my 2-legged friends, I live
with 4 of them. They give me hugs, kisses, oh, and my favorite….treats.
One of my 2-legged friends tells me to sit, lay down, and stay. If I
do these things for him, I get a treat, so of course, I do what he tells
me (well, at least most of the time). Oh, before I forget, Hobo and
I get a walk around the subdivision almost every day, and little 2-legged
friends come out of houses and pet me.
I keep hearing “Frodo is so cute and adorable”, I can’t
help but believe it. I love to have my picture taken, here is one of
Hobo and me.
Thanks for letting my 2-legged friends adopt me. I know they will take
good care of me.
Signed, Frodo

Willow - adopted 08/04
September, 2004:...Hi from McNairy County! I talked
to you back in mid August soon after we adopted "Willow".
I promised pictures of her and an update and I'm finally getting it
done! The pictures are of her and of her friends. She made her way here
and she has become fast friends with a few of the other babies in our
household. We have just this past summer completed an outside "room"
just for our cats. We put heavy duty wire all around it and put most
of their stuff out there. They have a barrel which Willow is on in a
few pics. They also have handmade pillows to lounge on! They love it!
They can run & play & climb, too. We put a small pet door so
they can go from the inside to their room. We put up a bird feeder close
enough so they can watch birds when they feel like it. Some say we are
crazy to build a porch (room) just for cats. But we don't look at it
like that. We love them and want them to enjoy the outdoors without
the dangers of the outdoors!
Willow is so sweet! Her personality is really coming out now. She still
has a time during the day that she comes to me, usually 2:00 and she
gets up around my face and wants to nuzzle & knead. She will do
this until she settles down to sleep and she is gone! She has a running
spell about 11:00 at night. She wants to play before bed! She is eating
about 4 small feedings a day. She lets me know when she wants a snack
in between feedings. She gives me that cute little mew!
Well, I could go on and on, but I know you all are busy people. I truly
admire someone that can take care of the babies and have the heart to
do it on a daily basis like a shelter does. There will always be a need
for a place like yours because humans have not learned a very important
lesson:Responsibility! Thank goodness for the shelters and the people
that work & volunteer there...
If you don't hear from me sooner, we will send the postcard in when
"Ms Willow" gets spayed! You all take care and we will be
in touch...Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Thank you so much for our precious angel!

Millie Sue - adopted 03/02
August, 2004...There isn't a day that goes by
that I don't thank God for all the wonderful people at CCHS. Without
you, my sweet, loving, precious Millie would have died a slow and horrible
death after those rotten people abandoned her in that backyard cage
without food or water. Millie and I love you all and send our blessings
to you each and every day for the hard but wonderful work you do to
protect God's most precious creatures from the cruelty of humans.
Every morning when Millie and I go downstairs, the very first thing
we have to do is go out on the sunporch so that Millie can say good
morning to all her 'babies' ... otherwise known as plush doggie toys!
Millie runs in circles and bounces around by the door, waiting impatiently
for me to open it so that she can pounce on them. She grabs several
different toys, tossing them into the air. After a few moments, she
picks one ... usually a turtle egg baby ... and jumps up on the love
seat with it. The arms on the love seat are rattan and have an open,
criss-cross pattern. Millie loves to push her turtle eggs through the
openings; she seems especially delighted when I exclaim, "Oops,
you made your baby fall on the floor!" One morning I let Millie
play with her babies for a few minutes before calling her to go out
in the backyard. When she ran into the kitchen, she was holding one
of her turtle egg babies in her mouth and she insisted on taking it
outside with her. It was raining and muddy and I told her that she didn't
want to take it out because her baby would get dirty, but she wouldn't
put it down. I watched as she ran through the backyard, tinkled and
rushed back to the door, still holding her 'baby' in her mouth. Despite
the fact that Millie has tons of 'babies' (photo attached), she knows
most of them by name ... witchy baby, donkey baby, kitty baby, turtle
egg baby ... When I ask her, "Where's your donkey baby, etc., she
finds the right one almost every time!" ... and that's no small
feat when you consider how many 'babies' Millie has!
Love and doggie hugs,
**Suzanne and Millie (Pennsylvania)
Katie
D - adopted 07/04
August, 2004...Here is a picture of Katie D. I'm sorry it took me so
long, we were just too busy spoiling her to take them. She has definitely
come into her own personality. She plays with our other dog all day
long, we take her to the dog park, we do a lot of things with her. She
is now spoiled rotten.

Jude the Dude - adopted 12/03
August, 2004:...As you can see he has gained weight
and gotten strong. He pretty much rules the roost around here. I lost
my husband in March and he has been a real blessing... His antics can
always get me in a better frame of mind. You said that you lived for
updates so here is one. He is beautifully housetrained in only 2 days
and has destroyed things I needed to get rid of anyway :>)) I am
very glad that we found each other. Thanks again.
Yours in Rescue

Katie & Annie - adopted
07/01
August, 2004...Hi, We've just past the third anniversary
with our girls and I wanted to give you an update. Both Katie and Annie
(aka Kate and Little Ann) are fine. The joy they've given to our family
is immense. Our family wouldn't be complete without them. They live
a life of leisure. They enjoy laying on the chaise lounge on the deck
or snoozing on the sunporch. They still play fight by boxing at each
other with their front paws. While Katie loves to play with squeak toys,
Annie loves to pull the 'guts' out of stuffed toys. When someone enters
the house with a bag, both girls are quick to investigate in case there
is a new toy for them. We are so afraid someone will tell them they
are dogs, because they really don't know they ARE dogs. We are so thankful
that the girls are part of our family. Please find an anniversary gift
to your shelter to celebrate our three wonderful years.

Molly
- adopted 11/03
April, 2004...I have been meaning to send this
for a long time. I adopted Molly in November 2003 from a very nice foster
mommy. She was the last of several Dauschund/Bassett Hound mix puppies.
The foster mommy was keeping her brother. I found Molly on the internet
and had to go see her. She was so pretty. My husband and I, being newlyweds,
really wanted a dog and Molly seemed perfect. She has been a joy to
have around. She is very smart, but still hasn't master to come when
she is called. She loves her daily walk and park trips. She loves to
chase the geese and swans at the pond at the park. In January 2004,
we moved to Bolivar, Missouri where I am now attending graduate school
and as of two weeks ago she now has a new friend, Emma, that we adopted
from the Southwest Missouri Humane Society. They love to play around
and Molly is going to be surprised when Emma grows so much bigger than
her. I want to thank you for adding such a wonderful addition to our
family. Please tell Molly's foster mom that she is doing wonderful and
let her see the pictures of her.

Ethel - adopted 12/03
March, 2004...I am so impressed with the work
you have done in your community, your no-kill policy and all of the
wonderful work which your volunteers have done to make this possible.
Ethel had her first visit to the vet yesterday and she is in great condition.
The veterinarian checked all of the shots you had given her while in
your possession and remarked she is in great shape and all she needed
was a rabies and heartworm check. She weighed in at 48-1/2 lbs of precious
puppy. I have recently had an Invisible Fence installed and now she
has 1-1/2 acres of running space and loves it.
...I will continue to do all I can in this area to promote your program---you
people are exceptional.
Thanks again for your love and concern for man's best friend.
